A jury found him guilty of sexual activity with a child after a trial lasting two and a half weeks. He was acquitted of a second similar offence.
Before the trial, sacked Sunderland ace Johnson admitted grooming a 15-year-old girl and kissing her in his Range Rover in January last year - at around the time his partner Stacey Flunders was due to give birth to their baby.

But half an hour later the smile was wiped off his face when the jury found him guilty of the other outstanding charge by a majority of 10-2.
Exactly a year after he was arrested, Johnson was warned by trial judge Jonathan Rose prison is "the almost inevitable outcome" when he is sentenced later this month.
The maximum sentence is 14 years in jail. The judge said his preliminary view was that the case falls into the category of a five-year prison sentence with a range of four to 10 years.

Just before he left the dock, the judge told Johnson being released on bail meant he could get his "affairs in order".
He said: "You can say goodbye to your daughter. A prison sentence will mean you will not see her for some time."
He added the footballers would be "well advised to stay well away from social media".
The star, 28, bombarded the young Sunderland fan with more than 800 flirty WhatsApp messages after she contacted him asking for a signed shirt.

The pair first met up alone when Johnson agreed to sign two shirts for the girl, who would wait outside matches to meet her "favourite player".
The former England winger admitted meeting her a second time and kissing her in his flash car, but denied it went further.
The girl told the court Johnson "put his hands down her pants" and she performed a sex act on him.
He was found guilty by the jury of touching the underage girl sexually but cleared over the second sex act claim.
