OLIVIA Newton-John’s missing ex-partner has been found alive and well more than a decade after he vanished, a new report has sensationally claimed.
Former cameraman Patrick McDermott had been dating the Grease star for nine years when he went missing during an overnight fishing trip off the coast of California in June 2005.
But independent investigators have now dramatically claimed that McDermott actually faked his apparent death and instead relocated to a remote part of Mexico, where he is said to have set up home with a German lover.
(San Pedro)–The FREEDOM fishing boat returns to port for the day to the 22nd Street Landing in San Pedro. Patrick McDermott, 48, was supposedly aboard the boat on the evening of July 1 fishing, but is now missing. His car was found in the parking lot and his fishing gear was aboard the boat but McDermott is missing. August 22, 2005

After he vanished in June 2005, leaving behind his wallet and keys, it emerged that McDermott owed £7,000 in child support to his ex-wife Yvette Nipar.
Numerous theories have since emerged, ranging from suicide to accidental drowning, but even California’s Coast Guard concluded that he was almost certainly dead.
But now Australian weekly magazine Women’s Day has spoken with investigator John Nazarian who described such theories as “preposterous.”
“To come up with the conclusion that he fell of the boat, and allegedly no one saw him fall off the boat, is the most preposterous thing I've ever heard in my life,” he said.

Instead, Nazarian’s report is believed to claim that McDermott withdrew his life savings from a bank account and obtained a new passport under his birth name Patrick Kim.
“'It's rumored he was with a German national. I spoke to people there. The girl he was travelling with was described as having a German accent,” Nazarian said.
One of the main difficulties in working out what actually happened to McDermott is that none of the 22 people on the fishing trip with him saw what happened.
Despite a frantic search in the waters off California, no body was ever found.
